Five Marvel heroes to follow in 2014

With 2013 over and done with, which Marvel heroes are worth watching in the year ahead?

Bring it on!

Wolverine

Yes, Logan’s even sporting a whole new look.

For years, Wolverine was everywhere, and we were kind of getting an overdose.  But in 2013, Logan’s fortunes began to turn.  He’d settled into a strange new status quo, as Headmaster of the Jean Grey School, but nothing seemed to go right.  His healing factor was stripped from him, leaving him killable for the first time in his life.  In a blow to his morale, the All-New X-Men chose to leave the Jean Grey School and side with his rival, Cyclops.  And his more recent past began to haunt him, with his leadership of X-Force revealed to the Avengers and his resurrected son seeking brutal payback for Logan’s putting him down.  Most recently, he got to watch his protégé Rogue kill a fellow Avenger, and she was then brutally murdered.

2013 promises to be a year in which things change for Logan.  He has a new series, a new costume, and even a new proclivity for guns.  Plus, Marvel are already preparing for Wolverine #12, which they believe will be an absolute game-changer mid-year.  Given that the arc in question is entitled ‘Mortal’, Wolverine fans are kind of getting worried…

I think Hopeless said in an interview that the characters in that main first issue line-up are not the only main characters. I think the whole cast of survivors will be back in some way or another. I can only hope this brings some other runaways along too.

I think, of all the Runaways, Gert was my favourite followed by Nico. Gerts death really was a kick in the gut. I’d love to see more of either of them.
