Jeremy Renner in ‘Critical but Stable’ Condition Following Weather-Related Accident

Jeremy Renner is in “critical but stable” condition after being hospitalized following a weather-related accident while plowing snow.

Marvel Cinematic Universe star Jeremy Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye in the superhero franchise, has been hospitalized with injuries stemming from what is being called a “weather related accident.”

In a statement to Deadline, Renner’s spokesperson explained that the actor is in “critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow earlier today.” Deadline says it had heard that Renner was airlifted to the hospital earlier today, Jan. 1, 2023. According to his spokesperson, Renner’s family is now with him at the hospital, where the actor is “receiving excellent care.”

Renner began his acting career in the mid 1990s before rising to prominence in the 2000s, appearing in such films as National Lampoon’s Senior Trip, Dahmer and 28 Weeks Later. He received an Academy Award nomination for his leading role in 2008’s The Hurt Locker. Renner joined the MCU as Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the 2011 film Thor, subsequently reprising the role in The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame. He most recently starred as the character in the 2021 Disney+ series Hawkeye.

Renner also stars in the Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown, which premiered in 2021 and is slated to return for a second season in just two weeks.
