A first look at the eighth and final season of Fear the Walking Dead teases the horrors Madison will endure at the hands of her mysterious captors.

AMC has unveiled a first look at the upcoming eighth and final season of its first Walking Dead spinoff series, Fear the Walking Dead.

The first-look clip picks up following the conclusion of Fear the Walking Dead Season 7, in which Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) was abducted by mysterious antagonists. Since being taken, Madison has apparently been forced to undergo torture, including a weekly blood extraction, seemingly even refusing to eat so as to buck her captors. Towards the end of the clip, Madison is thwarted in an attempted suicide, with her subsequent attempt at escape being cut off as well.

Fear the Walking Dead initially premiered on AMC in 2015 as the first of multiple spinoffs of The Walking Dead, which itself debuted on the network in 2010 as an adaptation of the post-apocalyptic comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard. The Walking Dead reached its grand finale in November 2022 with the conclusion of Season 11.

AMC recently confirmed that Fear would itself be coming to an end with Season 8, which is slated to premiere later this year on May 14. The spinoff had been renewed for an eighth season in December 2021, while Season 7 was on its mid-season break. Season 8 marks the full-time return of Dickens, who was a main cast member during Fear‘s first four seasons before returning as a guest star for the back half of Season 7.
