A yuri anime fan notices that The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady references an infamous Star Wars meme.

One observant anime fan was surprised to see an infamous Star Wars meme referenced in an episode of The Magical Revolution Of The Reincarnated Princess And The Genius Young Lady.

The fan took the time to screenshot scenes from the anime and laid them out in the same four-square grid format as the original meme, showcasing the similarities. The scenes from the Girls’ Love anime, also known as yuri, anime show the main characters Anisphia, also known as Anis, and Euphylia, also known as Euphie, who was previously engaged to Anis’ brother.

The first of the four panels shows a cheerful Anis declaring, “I’m just doing it out of love!” A hesitant Euphie wears an apprehensive look on her face as she inquires, “For magicology, you mean?” Anis responds to Euphie with a sly smile and a pink blush spreading across her cheeks before tenderly holding Euphie’s face. In the fourth and final panel, an obviously flustered Euphie stutters, “Y-you’re referring to magicology, right?!”

The History of the Meme

The original meme, known as the “For the Better, Right?”, features Anakin and Padme in a four-panel layout with the first panel showing Anakin saying, “I’m going to change the world.” Padme smiles sweetly at him and asks, “For the better, right?” Anakin answers her question by staring intensely at her, leading Padme’s smile to fall before she questions him again, “For the better, right?” The meme peaked in popularity in 2021 but remains relevant as fans repurpose it to reflect their interests.
