Next month BOOM! Studios will release The Seasons Have Teeth #1, the debut issue of a new four-issue miniseries from writer Dan Watters, artist Sebastián Cabrol, colorist Dan Jackson, and letterer Nate Piekos of Blambot. The series follows an aging photographer chasing the physical embodiments of each of the four seasons. Today the publisher released a first look preview at the issue, which finds humanity preparing for the coming of Spring.
Here’s how BOOM! describes The Seasons Have Teeth #1:
In a drab, colorless world, the seasons bring change.
Andrew, a retired conflict photographer, lives a life steeped in regret, pain, and sorrow. When the seasons arrive–each one embodied as powerful god-like creatures–everything for Andrew begins to change. As he risks everything to track down Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, he can’t help but hope that capturing the perfect picture of each will help him find his redemption…and maybe–just maybe–bring color back to his world.
Along with a main cover by Qistina Khalidah, The Seasons Have Teeth #1 will also sport variant covers by Duncan Fegredo, Sebastián Fiumara, and David Mack.
The Seasons Have Teeth is the first BOOM! Studios work for writer Dan Watters, whose other creator-owned titles include Home Sick Pilots (with artist Caspar Wijngaard), The Picture of Everything Else (with Kishore Mohan), and Coffin Bound (with Dani). It’s Watters’s first collaboration with artist Sebastián Cabrol, whose credits include Anthony Bourdain’s Hungry Ghosts, Maestro: World War M, and The Gatherer.
